Frequently Asked Questions...
❓1. How will you customize my chart of accounts to reflect the specific financial activities of my business?
Answer:
I start by learning about your business model, revenue streams, and industry-specific needs. Then I tailor your chart of accounts so that it captures meaningful categories—like separating service income from product sales, or tracking expenses by department or project. This ensures your financial reports are clear, relevant, and actionable for decision-making.
❓2. What’s your process for reconciling accounts, and how frequently do you perform these reconciliations?
Answer:
I reconcile your bank, credit card, and loan accounts monthly. My goal is to catch and correct discrepancies quickly. If something doesn’t match, I’ll alert you and work directly with you or your bank to resolve the issue promptly. You’ll also receive a reconciliation summary as part of your monthly reports.
❓3. Which financial reports do you generate on a regular basis, and how do you help me interpret them?
Answer:
Every month, I provide your Profit & Loss (Income Statement), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement. I also offer custom reports upon request. If you’d like, I’ll walk you through each report—breaking down trends, flagging potential issues, and helping you understand what the numbers are really saying about your business.
❓4. Can you prepare my books for tax filing and coordinate with my CPA or tax advisor during tax season?
Answer:
Absolutely. I’ll ensure your books are clean, accurate, and up-to-date before tax season. I’ll provide year-end reports, including a trial balance and general ledger, and can work directly with your CPA or tax preparer. I also offer 1099 preparation and year-end cleanup services to make sure nothing is missed.
❓5. How do you manage invoicing and collections—do you handle follow-ups for unpaid invoices too?
Answer:
Yes! I can create, send, and track your invoices. I set up automated reminders for overdue payments and can manually follow up with customers if needed. I’ll also flag any recurring late payers so we can adjust terms or strategies.
